Ugandan authorities have deported more than 72 Rwandan nationals accused of illegally entering the country on Monday evening.

They include 11 children, 20 women and 41 men. According to Rukiga Resident District Commissioner Mr Emmy Ngabirano, they were in two buses impounded by the Ugandan security personnel at Muhanga town council.

Some of the arrested Rwanda nationals told the security officials that they were going to for causal jobs in different districts of western Uganda. They were escorted and deported back to Rwanda through Katuna border town.

Mr Ngabirano warned foreigners against entering Uganda without possessing travel documents saying that they will be arrested and deported back to their home countries because it’s an offence.

Rwandan immigration officials are yet to comment on the matter.
