Arsenal player David Luiz to visit Rwanda

David Luiz, arsenal football team player is expected in Rwanda on Thursday for a two-day trip as part of the “Visit Rwanda” tourism partnership.

Mr Luiz will be the first Arsenal club player to visit the country since Government entered into the sport sponsorship deal with the English team last season.

Previously, other Arsenal legends namely Alex Scott, Tony Adams and Lauren also visited the Rwanda and participated in the Kwita Izina Gorilla naming ceremony.

Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the country’s tourism body said in a statement that Luiz, who will come along with his fiancé and mother, will travel to Volcanoes National Park to see endangered mountain gorillas.

“David Luiz and his family will also visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay respects to the victims and to learn more about the Genocide against the Tutsi,” read the statement.

A former player of Chelsea and Paris St Germain before joining Arsenal in the summer of 2019, Luiz is also expected to meet with local young players under the Arsenal supported coaching programme aimed at nurturing their talents.
